Punjab is set to open online applications for reserved seats in public medical and dental colleges for students from other provinces and regions, providing candidates with an opportunity to pursue medical education in the province under designated admission quotas. The University of Health Sciences (UHS) will begin accepting applications on October 26, 2026, for the 2026-27 academic session. A total of 214 seats for Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and 38 seats for Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) have been allocated across different regions. The reserved-seat arrangement covers candidates from Islamabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan and the former Federally Administered Tribal Areas. Applicants will be required to submit their applications directly through the designated online system and meet the relevant eligibility criteria. The process will be administered through the provincial medical admissions framework, with the relevant provincial and regional governments responsible for verifying selected candidates. Students planning to apply should review the official admission instructions and prepare their academic and domicile documents before applications open.

The available seats have been distributed among the eligible regions according to the notified allocation. Islamabad has been allocated 26 MBBS and four BDS seats, while Azad Jammu and Kashmir has 36 MBBS and three BDS seats. Gilgit-Baltistan has received 55 MBBS and five BDS seats, making it the largest beneficiary of the MBBS allocation among the listed regions. Balochistan has been allocated 48 MBBS and 10 BDS seats, while candidates from the former FATA areas have access to 49 MBBS and 16 BDS seats. The allocations bring the total to 214 MBBS seats and 38 BDS seats. These places are intended for candidates who meet the requirements for their respective regional categories, rather than being part of the general admission pool available to all applicants. Students should therefore confirm which quota applies to them and check the relevant documentation requirements before submitting an application. Regional eligibility and verification will be important parts of the admission process, and candidates should rely on official instructions to ensure their applications are considered under the correct category.

Applicants must have passed the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026 and hold a valid domicile relevant to the category under which they are applying. Meeting these requirements is an essential part of eligibility, but candidates should also check the full admission policy for any additional academic conditions, documentation and procedural requirements. The selection process will involve verification by the relevant provincial or regional authorities, helping establish whether applicants qualify for the reserved seats claimed in their applications. Candidates should ensure that the information entered in the online form matches their official records, including their identity, educational qualifications and domicile details. Any discrepancies or missing documents could complicate verification or affect an application. Since the reserved seats are divided among several regions, applicants should pay particular attention to the allocation applicable to their domicile and follow the instructions issued for their specific category. The final selection will depend on the prescribed eligibility and merit requirements, as well as the verification process conducted by the responsible authorities.

The online application process forms part of Punjab’s broader admissions arrangements for medical and dental education for the 2026-27 academic session. UHS is also managing separate admission schedules for public and private medical and dental colleges, with different timelines and procedures applying to the respective programmes and categories. Applicants seeking reserved seats in public institutions should not assume that the dates or requirements for private-college admissions apply to their applications. Instead, they should consult UHS announcements and the official admissions portal for the relevant instructions, submission deadline, required documents and subsequent selection updates. Students are advised to complete their applications carefully and retain confirmation of submission for reference. With 252 reserved MBBS and BDS seats available across the five listed regions, the application process will provide eligible candidates with another route to medical and dental education in Punjab. Further details about deadlines and the application procedure should be confirmed through official UHS communications as the application window approaches.
