Punjab Mass Transit Authority has issued an official clarification to address public queries regarding the use of its eTransit App e-Wallet and the T-Cash physical card, emphasizing transparency and ensuring passengers understand how both payment systems operate. According to the statement, the e-Wallet within the eTransit App and the T-Cash card function as completely separate systems and are not integrated. Payments made through the e-Wallet are recorded exclusively via the Pakistan Single Identification (PSID) system and do not appear in the balance of the T-Cash card. This clarification aims to prevent confusion among commuters who might assume that funds loaded into one platform could be automatically accessible on the other.

The authority highlighted that the T-Cash card, which is issued by Bank of Punjab, functions as a separate financial account with its own balance. Users can utilize T-Cash not only for travel-related transactions but also for ATM cash withdrawals and shopping wherever Mastercard is accepted. In contrast, the eTransit App e-Wallet is designed exclusively for mass transit usage, enabling passengers to pay fares across various public transport services conveniently through a mobile interface. The separation of these systems ensures that users have dedicated accounts for travel and non-travel expenditures, providing both flexibility and security for financial management.

Further clarification was provided to reassure users regarding the safety of funds within the eWallet. While the e-Wallet balance is secure and intended for transit-related payments, funds cannot be transferred to the T-Cash card, nor can funds from T-Cash be moved into the e-Wallet. This distinction is crucial for users to manage expectations around the functionality of each platform and avoid potential misunderstandings when using either system for payments. By clearly defining the boundaries of the two payment mechanisms, Punjab Mass Transit Authority reinforces the commitment to secure, transparent, and user-friendly digital payment solutions for commuters.

Punjab Mass Transit Authority emphasized that this clarification has been issued in the interest of passenger convenience and maintaining transparency in digital transit payments. The authority encourages users to rely on official communication channels and platforms for accurate information regarding both the eTransit App e-Wallet and T-Cash card functionalities. With growing adoption of digital payment solutions in public transportation, clarifying operational distinctions between platforms helps build user confidence and promotes smoother transactions across the mass transit network. Passengers are advised to monitor their app and card balances independently to ensure accurate tracking of funds for transit and non-transit purposes.
