The Punjab Agriculture Minister, Syed Muhammad Ashiq Hussain Kirmani, recently launched a new digital farmer registration process for the Punjab Kissan Card program at the Agriculture House in Lahore. This initiative, developed by the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), aims to streamline service delivery for farmers in the province.

The ceremony was attended by senior officials from PITB, Punjab Agriculture Department, Punjab Land Record Authority (PLRA), Pakistan Machine-Readable National Identity Card Database (MNP Database), Bank of Punjab (BOP), and National Database & Registration Authority (NADRA).

Minister Kirmani emphasized the Punjab government’s commitment to modernizing the agriculture department through automation for improved services. Agriculture Secretary Iftikhar Ali Sahoo was also present at the event.

During the ceremony, Chief Technical Advisor Hafiz Abdul Rehman delivered a detailed presentation on the Kissan Card program and expressed appreciation for the tireless efforts and support of stakeholders. This farmer empowerment initiative offers access to interest-free loans, with over 30,000 applications already received.

The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates to representatives of collaborating departments, including PITB, the Agriculture Department, PLRA, NADRA, and BOP.
