The Punjab government has also made an effort to facilitate the testing of Coronavirus in the state as the provincial government decided to conduct tests of suspected Coronavirus patients at their homes instead of hospitals. With the count of the confirmed cases of coronavirus approaching 6000, with the count of Punjab approaching 3000, and around 100 deaths reported so far, it has become imperative to monitor its spread and control before the death toll increases. According the Prime Minister Imran Khan, “it was thanks to the lockdowns that the virus’s spread in the country was contained and the pandemic didn’t reach the projected numbers”. The Lockdown has currently been extended to April 30th.
According to the Governor of Punjab, Chaudhry Sarwar, Coronavirus Telemedicine and Helpline is now live in Lahore with over 60 doctors have volunteered to offer guidance to citizens over the helpline.
