The caretaker government of Punjab has taken a significant step towards supporting the growth of IT-related businesses and education by eliminating all taxes and duties. This momentous decision was announced as part of the provincial budget, with the aim of creating a favorable environment for the thriving IT sector and educational institutions.

The removal of financial burdens through the elimination of taxes and duties is expected to stimulate investment and innovation in the technology field. Additionally, it will facilitate affordable education for students, making quality education more accessible to a larger population.

This move underscores the government’s commitment to fostering a flourishing digital economy in Punjab and promoting equal opportunities for education across the province.

In a separate development, the caretaker Punjab government has also announced an increase in the salaries and pensions of government employees in the budget. Salaries of government employees have been raised by 30%, while pensions have been increased by 5%. Furthermore, individuals above the age of 80 will receive a substantial 20% increase in their pensions.

These initiatives reflect the government’s dedication to the welfare of its employees and retirees, ensuring better financial security and improved livelihoods for the public servants of Punjab.
