Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has inaugurated a new IT Internship Program designed to support graduates in IT and Computer Science, offering them opportunities to gain practical experience and develop advanced market-relevant skills. The program is intended to provide young professionals with a structured entry into the technology sector, combining hands-on training with financial support to ensure a dignified start to their careers.

The Chief Minister highlighted that this initiative aligns with Punjab’s broader vision for digital advancement, aiming to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical industry requirements. Under the program, selected interns will receive training in emerging technologies and advanced market skills, preparing them to contribute effectively in a competitive digital economy. The program also includes a monthly stipend of Rs 50,000 to support participants while they gain valuable professional experience.

Eligibility for the internship is designed to ensure accessibility for local graduates. Candidates must hold a degree in IT or Computer Science completed within the last four years, possess a valid CNIC, and have a Punjab domicile. By focusing on local talent, the program encourages graduates to apply their skills in contributing to provincial and national technology initiatives, while fostering a pool of trained professionals ready to support both public and private sector projects.

Officials emphasized that the IT Internship Program represents an investment in the next generation of technology professionals. Through structured mentorship, exposure to real-world projects, and training in relevant tools and software, the program is intended to enhance employability and provide participants with a competitive edge in the job market. By creating pathways for young graduates to integrate into the IT workforce, the initiative reflects Punjab’s commitment to building a digitally skilled workforce and supporting career growth in the technology sector. Interested candidates can learn more and apply through official Punjab government channels.
