Pak Telecom Mobile Limited has announced its new Executive Management team, marking the next chapter in the leadership of the newly amalgamated company following its merger with Telenor Pakistan. The announcement comes after the Competition Commission of Pakistan issued an order requiring the merged entity to operate under a management structure separate from PTCL Group, prompting a series of leadership changes across the organisation.

Hatem Bamatraf has stepped down from his role as President and Chief Executive Officer of PTCL and will now continue solely as President and Chief Executive Officer of Pak Telecom Mobile Limited, where he will focus on leading the newly amalgamated entity and driving its integration and growth. Bamatraf played a central role throughout the transformation process, overseeing the acquisition, integration planning, and foundation building for the merged organisation, bringing with him extensive international telecommunications experience across multi market operations and large scale infrastructure investments.

The new leadership team under Bamatraf includes Atif Raza as Chief Commercial Officer, bringing more than two decades of experience across commercial strategy and customer experience in Pakistan’s telecom sector, and Awais Vohra as Chief Technology and AI Officer, who most recently served as Interim Chief Executive Officer of Telenor Pakistan and brings over 26 years of leadership experience across networks and digital transformation spanning Pakistan, Scandinavia, and the Asia Pacific region. Mudasser Shafiq has been appointed Chief Financial Officer after playing a key role in the acquisition and integration of Telenor Pakistan, while Areej Khan takes on the role of Chief People Officer, bringing more than two decades of experience across people, digital, and organisational transformation functions.

Rounding out the leadership team, Shan ul Haq has been named Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, drawing on his background in regulatory strategy and public policy, while Khawaja Shehzad Ullah becomes Chief Consumer Business Officer following three decades of experience in consumer sales and retail operations. Bilal Javed Bhatti, who previously led Telenor Pakistan’s Business Division, has been appointed Chief Business Officer within the commercial division. Haider Latif Sandhu continues as Senior Vice President for Governance, Legal and Compliance as well as Company Secretary, having played a central role in managing risk and supporting the board through the acquisition and amalgamation process, while Abdullah Hameed has been named Head of Internal Audit, bringing more than 25 years of experience in audit, governance, and enterprise risk management from previous senior roles within PTCL Group.

The amalgamation, carried out through a Scheme of Arrangement approved by the Islamabad High Court, brings together the operations of Ufone and Telenor Pakistan under Pak Telecom Mobile Limited, creating what the company describes as a unified telecommunications entity positioned to strengthen network coverage, expand digital services, and improve customer experience across the country. The company said its newly formed leadership team is intended to combine deep industry expertise with complementary strengths as Pak Telecom Mobile Limited moves through the next phase of its post merger integration.
