Update: According to PTA, the data network issue that caused Pakistan’s internet outage has been fixed. In Pakistan, all internet services have been returned to normal.
Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has confirmed that PTCL customers are experiencing internet outages across the entire nation. The governing body said that PTCL had complained about problems in “data networks between South and North which is generating internet connection issues” in a tweet.
Nearly all Internet Service Providers (ISP) customers are airing their grievances on Twitter. PTA has stated that it is keeping an eye on the issue and will provide more information as needed.
While consumers of other ISPs including Nayatel, Zong, and Telenor in a number of places are saying that they are also experiencing issues with internet surfing, #PTCL is already trending on Twitter.
The Telenor network is having problems as a result of widespread flooding and rain, according to a previous ProPakistani report.
The optical fibre networks in regions of Sindh and Central Punjab have been harmed by severe rains and flash floods. We apologise that many of our customers may be seeing service interruptions as a result. As a top priority, our field staff are working hard to restore services.
