PTCL Group, Pakistan’s leading telecom and ICT services provider, has reported a remarkable 25.8% revenue growth in the financial year 2023. The annual financial results, unveiled at the Board of Directors’ meeting in Islamabad on February 13, 2024, underscore PTCL Group’s status as the nation’s premier integrated telecom service provider.

Key highlights from the financial performance include Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) achieving a 15.4% revenue growth, driven by robust performance in both retail and business segments. Similarly, Ufone, a subsidiary of PTCL Group, recorded a 25.6% revenue growth. Additionally, U Microfinance Bank, another subsidiary, witnessed an impressive 76.5% revenue growth in 2023.

PTCL Group’s revenue surged to Rs. 190.6 billion, driven by strong performances in fixed broadband, mobile data, wholesale & business solutions, and microfinance services. Despite a net loss of Rs. 14.1 billion, PTCL Group continued its strong performance, bolstered by strategic initiatives like the acquisition of Telenor Pakistan.

PTCL, reporting a net profit of Rs. 9.4 billion, achieved its highest profit since 2013. The company’s revenue reached Rs. 96.3 billion, with significant growth in broadband and wholesale & business solutions segments. Flash Fiber, PTCL’s premium Fiber-To-The-Home (FTTH) service, witnessed exceptional growth, contributing to PTCL’s overall success.

In the consumer business segment, PTCL’s fixed broadband business grew by 17.4% year-on-year, driven by aggressive FTTH expansion. Flash Fiber experienced unprecedented growth of 106.8%, consolidating its position as a market leader. However, voice and Charji revenue streams saw a decline due to competition from cellular operators.

PTCL’s business services segment maintained its momentum, leading in IP bandwidth, cloud, data center, and other ICT services. The enterprise business grew by 25.7%, while the carrier and wholesale business achieved 21.9% overall revenue growth.

Ufone 4G emerged as the standout performer in the telecom industry, reporting exceptional revenue growth of 25.6%. This growth was fueled by enhanced customer experience and strategic partnerships with leading digital platforms. Ufone 4G’s network modernization activities aim to provide unmatched customer experience across Pakistan.

The introduction of ONIC, PTCL Group’s ambitious project, marks a significant step towards digital transformation. ONIC aims to offer a comprehensive digital platform, providing a range of services from e-commerce to entertainment.

Ubank, PTCL’s microfinance and branchless banking subsidiary, achieved a remarkable 76.5% revenue growth, reaffirming its commitment to financial and social inclusion.

PTCL Group’s strategic alliances with Pakistani cricket icons and franchises, along with accolades such as the ‘Best Place to Work in Technology & Telecom Sector’, underscore its commitment to excellence and innovation in the telecom industry.
