PTCL has recently added Cloudflare’s Content Delivery Network to its list of internationally renowned global CDNs, which include but are not limited to Google, Facebook and Netflix. The move from PTCL has come in an effort to further optimize network performance.

As per the new agreement the Pakistani domains previously hosted outside the country will now be hosted locally, meaning greater accessibility from all three regions of the country i.e. North, South and Central.

This agreement is also to further enhance the user experience for PTCL’s valued customers. According to statistics, the latency to downstream customers is set to decrease from 150ms and above to close to 20ms i.e. a 750% improvement.

Moreover, Cloudflare’s new CDN will also enable PTCL to access a better DNS. Since every internet related action is initiated with the aid of a DNS request, it is crucial for a company to access the fastest possible directory in order to optimize performance.

What comes as a breakthrough for the telecommunication and IP Network industry is that PTCL is now connected to the worlds fastest DNS- (1.1.1.1), which will now be accessed, hosted and served locally.

The 1.1.1.1 directory is six times faster than the average Internet Service Provider and PTCL users can expect an instantaneous improvement in network accessibility. Furthermore, GPON customers will be getting access to 1.1.1.1 in close to 5ms and VDSL/DSL customers will get access to it within 25ms across Pakistan.

However, the real benefit the customers have is the accessing of television channels online or live streams for the occasional cricket match that will be significantly faster.
