PTA Shares Statistics On 3G/4G Users

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has recently shared statistics that state that the number of 3G and 4G users has reached 60.02 million in Pakistan by the end of October 2018. According to reports, the mobile users have crossed 152.16 million by the end of October as compared to 151.66 million by the end of September 2018.

Overall an increase of 0.5 million in mobile users’ statistics has been observed during the same period. With regards to different telecom companies, Jazz 3G subscribers reached 14.41 million by the end of October compared to 14.84 million by the end of September. However, there was a decrease of 0.43 million in Jazz 3G users. Meanwhile the Jazz 4G users stats increased. Stats show that Jazz’s 4G customers reached 6,113,701 by the end of October compared to 5,585,619 by the end of September.

With Zong 3G users dropping to 8.75 million next month, the number of 4G users reached 8,911,613 by the end of October. Telenor 3G users also have decreased from 9.947 to 9.609 million; with the number of 4G users reaching up to 4,110,634 by 31st October.

Ufone is however the only telecom that added 0.245 million 3G users on its network during the month of October and reached a total of 8.103 million by the end of October compared to 7.858 million by the end September 2018.

Overall, the teledensity for cellular mobile has decreased to 74.23 compared to 74.24 percent and broadband subscribers have increased to a 62,171,455 by the end of October compared to 61,635,257 in September 2018.
