Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) unveils a surge in digital engagement, attributing the spike to the nation’s adaptable regulatory framework. With a dynamic youth demographic, Pakistan now boasts 70 million active users on social media platforms, fostering global connections within the digital sphere.
PTA reports reveal substantial traffic figures, with daily bandwidth utilization soaring to approximately 18.03 Tbps. Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) play a pivotal role, contributing 12.38 Tbps, while Carrier Level Services (CLS) operators supply 5.65 Tbps. CDNs dominate with 68.7 percent of total bandwidth usage, enhancing Internet service quality while optimizing costs.
Meta leads the pack, accounting for 37.55 percent of daily bandwidth usage, followed by Google at 30.18 percent and Akamai at 16.79 percent. Other significant contributors include TikTok, Tencent, and Netflix.
PTCL emerges as a key player, routing 40.5 percent of online traffic, underscoring its crucial role in delivering Internet services to a large segment of the population. Detailed CDN data highlights the dominance of major players like Meta and Google, reflecting their widespread popularity in Pakistan.
PTA suggests that these statistics offer valuable insights into the digital preferences and usage patterns of Internet users in Pakistan, signaling a growing reliance on digital platforms for communication, entertainment, and information dissemination.
