Islamabad witnessed a key development in the telecommunications sector as a high-level delegation from PTA and Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) visited Telenor Pakistan’s Campus 345 as part of the Regulatory Masterclass on “5G and Beyond: Shaping the Future of Connectivity.” The initiative, organized by PTA in collaboration with MCMC, aims to facilitate knowledge sharing and international cooperation in the rapidly evolving ICT landscape.

During the visit, Telenor Pakistan’s leadership provided an in-depth overview of the company’s initiatives to enhance connectivity, drive digital transformation, and deploy next-generation technologies. Discussions revolved around Pakistan’s 5G readiness, digital expansion strategies, and efforts to bridge the digital divide. The delegation engaged with senior officials from PTA, MCMC, and Telenor Pakistan to explore collaborative strategies that could drive Pakistan’s telecommunication sector towards innovation and global competitiveness.

Shan ul Haq, Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs at Telenor Pakistan, expressed his appreciation for the regulatory bodies’ visit, emphasizing the importance of cross-border collaboration in driving digital progress. “Telenor Pakistan remains committed to digital transformation by leveraging cutting-edge technologies and fostering innovation in the ICT sector. Collaborative engagements like these are essential in shaping the future of connectivity, and we are honored to share insights on our efforts in expanding digital access, enhancing network capabilities, and contributing to Pakistan’s digital evolution.”

The visit underscored the significance of global cooperation in advancing digital connectivity, improving network infrastructure, and ensuring inclusive access to next-generation technologies. With Pakistan and Malaysia strengthening ties in the ICT sector, both nations are working towards a digitally progressive future. As a key player in Pakistan’s telecom industry, Telenor Pakistan continues to support these efforts through its technological expertise, innovative solutions, and commitment to bridging the digital divide.

This collaboration highlights Pakistan’s growing focus on 5G technology and digital inclusivity, reinforcing the government and industry’s joint commitment to driving the nation’s digital transformation. By fostering such international partnerships, Pakistan aims to accelerate its ICT growth, enhance regulatory frameworks, and prepare for the next wave of digital connectivity.
