PTA recently held the Cybersecurity Awards 2024 to recognize and honor the outstanding contributions of telecom operators and other stakeholders in enhancing cybersecurity in Pakistan.
The event was graced by the presence of the Minister of State for IT and Telecommunications, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, who emphasized the government’s commitment to building a robust cybersecurity framework.
Major General (R) Hafeez Ur Rehman, Chairman of the PTA, highlighted the authority’s proactive approach to cybersecurity and called for collaboration among all stakeholders to create a more secure digital landscape.
Aamir Ibrahim, CEO of Jazz, emphasized the growing importance of cybersecurity in today’s digital age. He highlighted the challenges faced by telecom operators in protecting sensitive data and ensuring the security of their networks.
The Cybersecurity Awards recognized the achievements of telecom operators and other stakeholders in various categories, including network security, data protection, and incident response. The event also saw the launch of the Cybersecurity Annual Report 2024, which provides insights into the latest cybersecurity trends and challenges.
By recognizing and celebrating the efforts of industry leaders, the PTA aims to encourage further innovation and investment in cybersecurity. This will help to ensure the safety and security of Pakistan’s digital infrastructure and protect the interests of its citizens.
