PTA Zonal Office in Lahore, in collaboration with Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cyber Crime Circle, Lahore, conducted a successful raid on a telecom franchisee located in Kot Addu. The franchisee was found to be involved in the illegal issuance of SIM cards.

During the raid, authorities seized 166 fingerprints, one mobile phone, and one laptop as evidence. One person was arrested on the spot, and an FIR has been registered with the FIA. Further investigation into the matter is ongoing.

The raid was a result of a complaint filed by PTA Zonal Office Lahore with the FIA regarding the illegal activation of SIMs through the franchisee’s sales channel. This action demonstrates PTA’s commitment to combating the illegal issuance of SIM cards and ensuring the integrity of the telecom sector.

The raid is part of PTA’s ongoing efforts to curb the menace of illegal SIMs, which can be used for various illicit activities. By taking decisive action against such offenders, PTA aims to promote a safer and more secure telecommunications environment in Pakistan.
