The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) have successfully conducted a raid in Tehsil/City Gambat, District Khairpur, against an illegal Internet Service Provider (ISP). This joint operation resulted in the confiscation of operational internet infrastructure and related equipment. Furthermore, one individual was apprehended at the scene and taken into custody by the FIA for further investigation.

PTA, in a statement, highlighted that this raid exemplifies their commitment, vigilant monitoring, and persistent efforts to combat illegal internet service providers. The regulatory authority aims to curb such illicit activities and prevent tax evasion and revenue misreporting, ultimately safeguarding the national exchequer.

The statement emphasized the importance of the public exercising caution and only availing telecom services from PTA-licensed providers. This measure ensures the provision of reliable and legal services while supporting the government’s efforts to maintain transparency and uphold the law.

The successful operation against the illegal ISP signifies a significant step in the ongoing battle against unauthorized internet service providers in Pakistan. PTA and FIA’s collaborative efforts demonstrate their determination to enforce regulations and maintain the integrity of the telecommunications industry.
