The Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA) has voiced industry concerns over the recent VPN blockage, emphasizing potential impacts on the IT sector.

P@SHA urges the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to ensure uninterrupted internet access by whitelisting IPs and enabling VPNs, collaborating closely with the authority.

In response, P@SHA has launched a survey to gauge the VPN blockade’s ramifications on the IT and ITeS industry, aiming to collect data on financial losses and customer feedback by March 20, 2024.

Appreciating the PTA’s measures, including whitelist provisions for IPs and VPNs, P@SHA seeks to maintain seamless internet access for member companies by ensuring their inclusion in whitelists.

The ongoing survey by P@SHA invites industry participants to share insights and suggestions to address challenges posed by the VPN blockade.

Concerns arise amid discussions over the government’s alleged VPN restriction, purportedly aimed at preventing users from bypassing the month-long blockage of social media site X.
