P@SHA Hosts Farewell Ceremony For PSEB CEO Abu Bakar In Islamabad

PASHA hosted a farewell ceremony in Islamabad on October 9th to honor Mr. Abu Bakar, Chief Executive Officer of Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), for his dedicated service and contributions to Pakistan’s IT and software export sector. The event reflected the strong relationship between the public and private sectors working together to drive digital progress and support the nation’s growing technology industry.

The ceremony brought together leading figures from the technology and government sectors. Federal Ministry of IT and Telecommunication Pakistan Ms. Shaza Khawaja attended the event as the chief guest, joined by P@SHA Chairman Mr. Sajjad Syed, Senior Vice Chairman Mr. Muhammad Umair Nizam, Vice Chairman Mr. Raheel Iqbal, Treasurer Mr. Muhammad Haris Naseer, CEC Members Mr. Abdul Wahab, Mr. Salman Dar, Mr. Sheikh Abdul Qadir, Dr. Sonia Saleem, Secretary General Mr. Ali Hasani, and Former P@SHA Chairman Mr. Muhammad Zohaib Khan. Representatives from PSEB, alongside several industry leaders and professionals, also participated, creating an environment of appreciation and respect for Abu Bakar’s tenure.

During the event, Mr. Abu Bakar expressed gratitude to both industry stakeholders and government bodies for their consistent support and cooperation throughout his leadership at PSEB. He highlighted the collaborative spirit that has been vital in promoting Pakistan’s IT exports and in positioning the country as an emerging technology destination. His remarks emphasized the importance of continued public-private partnerships to sustain the growth of the national IT ecosystem and strengthen its global competitiveness.

Speeches were delivered by Minister Shaza Khawaja, P@SHA Chairman Sajjad Syed, Senior Vice Chairman Muhammad Umair Nizam, Treasurer Muhammad Haris Naseer, and Former Chairman Muhammad Zohaib Khan, each commending Abu Bakar’s leadership and his role in advancing digital initiatives, export development, and organizational efficiency within PSEB. The speakers collectively acknowledged his strategic approach and dedication, which have supported the expansion of Pakistan’s software and IT services exports over recent years.

As part of the ceremony, Minister Shaza Khawaja presented a commemorative shield to Abu Bakar as a token of appreciation for his efforts and achievements. The gesture symbolized the shared respect and mutual commitment between government institutions and industry associations like P@SHA in recognizing the individuals driving progress within Pakistan’s technology sector. The evening concluded on a note of gratitude and optimism, with participants reaffirming their shared vision to continue building on the foundation laid during Abu Bakar’s tenure and to further strengthen Pakistan’s position in the global IT landscape.
