Pakistan’s technology sector has received a new support mechanism as PSEB officially rolled out the Markaz Industry Facilitation Center, a one-window platform designed to assist IT companies, BPO firms, call centres, and freelancers. The initiative has been introduced to help businesses navigate operational hurdles and improve access to regulatory processes that often slow down growth in the digital economy. Positioned as a centralised support facility, Markaz will offer round-the-clock assistance to help stakeholders address common barriers related to documentation, compliance, and communication with relevant authorities. The launch reflects an effort to make industry processes more organised and accessible, especially for companies and individuals who frequently encounter delays during business setup or expansion activities. The aim is to create a smoother pathway for participation in Pakistan’s IT and IT-enabled services sector.

A key focus of Markaz is simplification of procedures such as business registration, acquiring regulatory clearances, and completing compliance requirements. The center will provide guidance related to organisations that include SECP, PTA, EOBI, Social Security institutions, and provincial labour departments. Stakeholders often require support to understand documentation, timelines, and procedural steps across these institutions, and the new facility intends to streamline this information through direct assistance. In addition to helping with administrative processes, the platform will also offer support to companies that encounter operational or policy-related challenges. By centralising information and support services, the initiative aims to reduce confusion and shorten the time required to resolve issues that can impact business continuity.

Officials associated with the initiative stated that Markaz will actively coordinate with relevant government departments to resolve sector challenges more efficiently. Instead of businesses navigating multiple offices independently, the center will serve as a single point of contact and escalate matters to concerned authorities when needed. This coordination is expected to reduce procedural delays and allow companies to maintain a more stable workflow, particularly in areas linked to compliance and regulatory approvals. Startups, mid-sized firms, freelancers, and established IT organisations are seen as the primary beneficiaries, as many of these groups face administrative obstacles that limit operational progress. With the IT and IT-enabled services industry continuing to expand, the availability of structured support is positioned to make everyday processes more manageable for a wider range of stakeholders.

Markaz will operate on a 24/7 model, offering guidance on export revenue procedures, regulatory matters, and industry-specific concerns. Continuous availability is intended to support both domestic and international operations, especially for companies handling clients or projects across different time zones. By reducing barriers that affect competitiveness and scalability, the initiative seeks to contribute to a more business-friendly environment. The Ministry of IT and Telecom and PSEB have described Markaz as an important structure that can facilitate growth and strengthen Pakistan’s digital landscape by making it easier for companies and freelancers to navigate formal systems. The introduction of this center aligns with ongoing efforts to support the country’s technology ecosystem through improved access to information, faster communication channels, and clearer procedures for industry participants.
