Mr. Abu Bakar, CEO of Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), joined industry leaders in Karachi for a consultative session aimed at addressing key challenges, exploring new opportunities, and formulating strategies to expand Pakistan’s IT exports. The session brought together prominent voices from the tech sector to collaborate on strengthening Pakistan’s tech ecosystem and driving the country towards an accelerated digital future.

The consultative meeting served as a platform for open dialogue, with participants discussing the hurdles facing the IT industry, including global competition, talent development, infrastructure gaps, and policy challenges. Industry leaders shared insights on the evolving demands of international markets and emphasized the need for collaborative efforts between the public and private sectors to position Pakistan as a leading technology and innovation hub.

Mr. Abu Bakar, who has been leading PSEB with a vision to amplify IT and IT-enabled services (ITeS) exports, underscored the importance of industry input in shaping effective policies and initiatives. He highlighted PSEB’s ongoing efforts to provide support mechanisms for IT companies, freelancers, and startups, ensuring they have access to global opportunities while addressing domestic constraints.

During the session, discussions focused on streamlining regulatory processes, improving digital infrastructure, and enhancing workforce skills to meet global standards. Mr. Abu Bakar reiterated PSEB’s commitment to fostering a conducive environment for IT businesses to thrive, emphasizing that Pakistan’s IT sector has the potential to significantly contribute to the national economy by increasing export revenues and creating jobs.

Industry leaders praised the initiative, acknowledging the importance of such consultative engagements in aligning the tech industry’s goals with national development plans. They expressed optimism that with consistent support, targeted reforms, and strategic investments, Pakistan can achieve a stronger foothold in international markets and attract greater foreign investment in the technology sector.

The consultative session reflects a renewed focus on collaboration, innovation, and growth. PSEB’s proactive approach, under Mr. Abu Bakar’s leadership, continues to bridge the gap between government initiatives and industry needs, ensuring that Pakistan’s IT ecosystem remains competitive on a global scale. These collective efforts are not only paving the way for a stronger tech infrastructure but also positioning the country as a key player in the digital economy of the future.
