Pakistan’s technology leadership took center stage at GITEX Global 2025 as Abu Bakar, Chief Executive Officer of the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), addressed the AI Stage on the topic “Driving Global Investments in Pakistan’s IT Sector.” Representing Pakistan’s growing digital economy, his participation at one of the world’s largest technology events underscored the country’s commitment to advancing its position as a leading hub for global innovation, AI development, and digital transformation.

During his address, Abu Bakar highlighted how Pakistan’s IT sector has rapidly evolved into a key driver of economic progress, supported by strong policy frameworks and public-private collaboration. He discussed how consistent government initiatives, digital infrastructure expansion, and investment-friendly policies have strengthened Pakistan’s position as an emerging global technology destination. Emphasizing the role of AI and automation in transforming businesses, he noted that Pakistan is fostering an environment conducive to AI-driven growth, where innovation and regulation work together to create sustainable impact.

Abu Bakar also outlined the country’s readiness for global investors, drawing attention to PSEB’s initiatives in capacity building, export promotion, and facilitation of partnerships between Pakistani tech firms and international stakeholders. He stated that the combination of Pakistan’s skilled workforce, competitive costs, and supportive policies continues to attract multinational interest in software development, business process outsourcing, and digital service delivery. The vision, he explained, is to position Pakistan as a trusted digital investment partner for global enterprises seeking reliable and scalable technology solutions.

The session drew significant attention from international delegates, investors, and policymakers, reflecting the growing confidence in Pakistan’s IT ecosystem. Abu Bakar reiterated PSEB’s commitment to strengthening deep-tech collaboration and supporting initiatives that drive digital inclusion, skill development, and export diversification. He emphasized that global engagement and partnerships are key to Pakistan’s journey toward becoming a sustainable, innovation-led economy that contributes meaningfully to global digital progress.

As part of the Tech Destination Pakistan initiative, PSEB’s active participation at GITEX Global 2025 also reinforced its ongoing efforts to showcase Pakistan’s technological potential on international platforms. By aligning national innovation strategies with global trends, PSEB aims to ensure that Pakistan continues to attract high-value technology investments and partnerships that create opportunities for long-term growth. The event once again highlighted how Pakistan’s IT sector is embracing innovation, AI, and digital excellence to strengthen its footprint in the global technology landscape.
