Pakistan Software Export Board and the Higher Education Commission have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to integrate HEC’s degree verification system with PSEB’s upcoming National Digital Workforce Platform. The collaboration is intended to enable secure digital verification of academic credentials, establish one of the leading national verified digital talent repositories in Pakistan, and strengthen academia-industry linkages to improve graduate employability.

The MoU was signed in the presence of HEC Chairman Professor Dr Niaz Ahmad Akhtar and Pakistan Software Export Board Chief Executive Officer Faisal Jeddy, along with senior officials from both organizations. Engr Dr Nasir Mehmood, Member for Quality Assurance at HEC, and Engr Nazeer Hussain, Advisor at HEC’s Information Technology Division, attended the ceremony as witnesses. The agreement itself was formally signed by Dr Henna Karamat Durrani, Chief Skills Development Officer at Pakistan Software Export Board, and Hazrat Bilal, General Manager of Accreditation and Attestation at HEC.

The integration will facilitate digital degree verification, allowing authenticated academic credentials of students and professionals to be validated electronically while improving transparency, credibility, and trust across digital workforce and talent development initiatives. Once operational, the platform will feature authenticated digital profiles of students and IT professionals, giving employers both within Pakistan and internationally access to a trusted, verified talent pool. Officials said this is expected to strengthen talent matchmaking, recruitment, and global employment opportunities for the country’s digital workforce.

The agreement adds to a series of initiatives Pakistan Software Export Board has pursued in recent months to build more structured data and verification infrastructure around the country’s IT sector, including its ongoing National IT Industry Census. Officials described the HEC partnership as another step toward building an integrated, data driven ecosystem that supports skills development, employability, and Pakistan’s broader digital transformation agenda, reflecting continued coordination between the country’s higher education regulator and its IT export promotion body.
