President Dr Arif Alvi Urges Industry to Embrace AI-Based Solutions Enhanced Efficiency

President Dr Arif Alvi has emphasized the adoption of AI-based solutions for addressing business and industrial challenges in Pakistan. During a meeting with representatives from the Artificial Intelligence Education Foundation (AIEF), the President highlighted the significant opportunities that advancements in information technology, particularly AI, present for various sectors including health, education, business, and industry.

President Alvi encouraged Pakistan’s IT companies to adopt a global outlook and fully leverage these technological advancements. He emphasized the need for robust partnerships between academia, industry stakeholders, and IT companies at both the local and international levels. Such collaborations are expected to contribute to achieving important economic and technological milestones.

The President also underscored the importance of promoting skills-based education in Pakistan and equipping the youth with employable skills through online courses and short-term associate degree programs. He has consistently advocated for the production of skilled graduates, investment in emerging technologies, prompt decision-making, and timely policy implementation within the IT sector.

Furthermore, President Alvi recognized the potential of AI-based solutions in providing personalized education to the approximately 27 million out-of-school children in Pakistan. This technology could significantly reduce the time required to deliver educational content to these children.

Chairman Soliton Investment Fund, Dr Mansoor Ali Khan, Founder and CEO of Soliton Group, Dr Fauzia Khan, representative of the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication, and senior officials of the government attended the meeting. Talking to the delegation, the president underlined the need for Pakistan’s IT companies to develop win-win partnerships with academia and industries at both the local and international levels. He added that robust and mutually beneficial partnerships among academia and industry stakeholders would help achieve key economic and technological milestones. 

The AIEF delegation briefed President Alvi on their efforts to promote AI in Pakistan through partnerships with local universities. They also highlighted the diverse applications of AI and its benefits across various sectors of the economy. The President commended their work and encouraged them to expand their outreach and the scope of their initiatives.
