This past Saturday, President Dr. Arif Alvi signed the National Information Technology Board Bill 2022.
According to the specifics, the National Information Technology Board Bill 2022 was approved by the president in accordance with Article 75 of the Constitution.
On June 9, 2022, the measure was adopted by the joint session of Parliament. The Ministry of Information Technology then sent the law to the President for approval.
A nine-member National Information Technology Board would be established by the government under the bill, with the DG (Technical) ISI and Secretary National Telecommunication and Information Technology Security Board serving as ex-officio members.
The Federal Minister for the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoIT), the Secretary of the MoIT, the Secretary of the division assigned to the business of science and technology, the Chief Executive Officer of the Board, the Member lT, and any expert from the public or private sector that may be co-opted with the board’s approval make up the other members of the board.
