Pakistan Revenue Automation (Pvt) Limited (PRAL) and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA) are set to revolutionize tax collection with the launch of an advanced automated tax system. This initiative aims to modernize tax administration, enhance coordination between taxpayers and authorities, and introduce a more efficient, transparent framework for revenue collection in the province.
A high-level PRAL delegation, led by Chief Technology and Information Officer Abid Naeem and Head of Commercial Projects Farheen Azhar, recently visited KPRA to present the new system. During the session, PRAL officials outlined the system’s key features, which include full-scale automation, a centralized dashboard offering real-time data analytics, and a dedicated back-office setup for tax collectors. The system is also designed to integrate advanced risk management tools, ensuring a more proactive approach to tax compliance and oversight.
KPRA officials welcomed the initiative, recognizing its potential to simplify tax procedures and improve engagement with taxpayers. By reducing manual processes and introducing digital efficiencies, the system is expected to minimize errors, curb tax evasion, and foster greater compliance among businesses and individuals. The integration of real-time analytics will also provide authorities with deeper insights into revenue patterns, enabling more informed decision-making and policy adjustments.
The adoption of automation in tax administration aligns with Pakistan’s broader digital transformation agenda, which prioritizes the use of technology to streamline government services. With PRAL’s expertise in revenue automation and KPRA’s commitment to modernization, this collaboration represents a major step toward a more structured and technology-driven tax collection system in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
By embracing digital solutions, KPRA aims to strengthen its role in fostering a transparent and business-friendly tax ecosystem. The new system is expected to enhance public confidence in the taxation process by making compliance more straightforward while improving government oversight. As tax authorities increasingly leverage technology, this initiative could serve as a model for other provinces seeking to optimize revenue collection through automation.
