Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif chaired a meeting on Saturday to review the implementation of the E-Office system across federal government ministries and departments. The system aims to improve public service delivery and boost transparency within the government.
“The main objective of the E-Office is to provide better services to the public and ensure transparency in the government system,” stated the Prime Minister according to a press release from the PM Office Media Wing.
The meeting, attended by key officials including ministers and advisors, discussed the potential of the E-Office to save taxpayer money through reduced paper usage and streamlined processes. Additionally, Prime Minister Sharif emphasized the importance of user-friendliness and robust security measures within the E-Office platform.
Discussions also touched upon a cooperation agreement with Chinese tech giant Huawei, though specific details were not disclosed.
The meeting provided updates on the system’s progress, implementation status, and planned reforms. Officials highlighted the development of KPIs to measure the success of E-Office. Furthermore, a revamp of the National IT Board (NITB) – responsible for the system’s rollout, is underway.
