Registrations are now open for pkSIG 2025, the Pakistan School on Internet Governance, a national forum aimed at exploring critical themes surrounding internet governance, policy evolution, and digital rights. The initiative brings together a diverse mix of voices—policymakers, researchers, civil society advocates, technology professionals, entrepreneurs, and students—to shape the direction of Pakistan’s digital landscape.

pkSIG has established itself as a significant annual platform where participants engage in thoughtful dialogue on who governs the internet, how policies impact innovation, and what privacy and freedom mean in an increasingly connected world. The upcoming edition invites attendees to examine Pakistan’s role in global internet governance debates and contribute to building a more inclusive and secure digital environment.

This year’s program continues its focus on policy development, regulation frameworks, internet access, cybersecurity, online rights, and the intersection of local and international tech governance. Participants will also discuss strategies to promote digital inclusion, responsible data use, and equitable innovation across the country’s rapidly evolving tech ecosystem.

The school encourages students, activists, entrepreneurs, and professionals from across sectors to register and engage with experienced experts and practitioners. The goal is to promote deeper understanding and foster cross-sector collaboration in shaping the policies and norms that define Pakistan’s internet space.

To ensure broader participation, pkSIG 2025 is also offering limited fellowships for selected candidates. These fellowships aim to support individuals who bring unique perspectives or represent underrepresented communities in the tech policy space. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply before August 31, 2025, through the designated fellowship portal.

pkSIG is known for its commitment to nurturing local digital leadership and fostering evidence-based policy discussion. It has previously hosted participants from across Pakistan’s provinces and regions, ensuring diverse representation in debates around online regulation, freedom of expression, innovation, surveillance, and digital rights.

The forum does not only examine challenges but also highlights emerging opportunities in the digital economy, tech entrepreneurship, and regulatory reform. By combining academic insights, policy analysis, and on-the-ground experiences, pkSIG offers a unique environment for learning and strategy-building.

Registration for pkSIG 2025 is now open via this link, while fellowship applications can be submitted at this link by the stated deadline. With growing attention to internet policy and its impact on economic and civic life, pkSIG remains a vital platform for inclusive and future-focused digital dialogue in Pakistan.
