Punjab Information Technology Board has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with PMI Lahore Chapter to help create more opportunities for information technology professionals under its Global IT Certifications Program. The agreement was signed by PITB Director General for e-Governance Sajid Latif and President of PMI Lahore Chapter Doctor Khalid Ahmad Khan, with PITB Director for Skills Development Ahmad Islam Syan and senior officials from PMI Lahore Chapter also present at the signing.
Through the collaboration, candidates applying for the Project Management Professional certification under the Global IT Certifications Program will now be eligible for an exclusive 30 percent discount on PMP training offered by PMI Lahore Chapter, helping them prepare for one of the most widely recognised project management certifications globally. The certification is administered by the Project Management Institute, a global professional association with certified members in more than 200 countries, and is generally regarded as one of the more valuable credentials for professionals seeking project leadership roles across industries including technology, construction, and finance.
PMI Lahore Chapter, founded in 2007, has grown into the largest and fastest growing chapter of the Project Management Institute in Pakistan, with more than 470 active members offering seminars, networking events, and certification training to project management practitioners across the province. The chapter’s involvement in the partnership gives PITB’s certification programme direct access to an established local training infrastructure already familiar to Punjab’s professional community.
The Global IT Certifications Program forms part of Punjab Information Technology Board’s broader effort to make globally recognised professional certifications more accessible and affordable for information technology professionals across the province. The programme has previously partnered with various international training and certification providers to expand the range of credentials available to Punjab’s workforce, positioning itself as a bridge between local professionals and the credentialing bodies that shape hiring standards in global technology and project management markets.
Officials described the partnership as reflecting Punjab Information Technology Board’s continued commitment to expanding access to internationally recognised qualifications, particularly for IT professionals who might otherwise find the cost of such certifications prohibitive. Interested candidates can register for the programme and the discounted PMP training through PITB’s dedicated certifications portal, with the initiative expected to add momentum to the province’s broader push to strengthen the credentials and global competitiveness of its technology workforce.
