Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has entered into two contracts with Civil Aviation Training Institute (CATI) Hyderabad under Pakistan Airport Authority to modernize operations and advance digital adoption within the aviation training sector. The initiative was announced during a signing ceremony in Lahore where PITB and CATI leadership formalized their collaboration. This step is aimed at bringing digital efficiency and transparency to both academic and administrative functions at CATI, one of the country’s key aviation training institutions.

Under the agreements, PITB will deploy its Training & Campus Management System and PayZen digital payment platform across CATI. The Training & Campus Management System will streamline and automate academic and administrative processes, enabling the institute to manage training schedules, records, and staff operations more effectively. PayZen, PITB’s advanced payment solution, will digitize fee collection by integrating mobile banking, ATMs, and debit or credit card options, while offering real-time dashboards for financial transparency and efficiency. This will improve ease of payment for students and enhance the institute’s ability to monitor and manage funds.

The contracts were signed by PITB Director Development & Procurement Ata-ur-Rehman and Deputy DG Works & Development/Director (CATI) Pakistan Airport Authority Engr. Sumair Saeed. Senior officials present included PITB DG IT Solutions Waqar Naeem Qureshi, ADG Syed Qasim Ifzal, Director Shahid Akram Khan, Joint Directors Syed Ijlal Hussain and Muddasar Paracha, along with CATI Additional IT HQ PAA Taha Ahmed Iqbal, JtDS IT Payroll/Admin Arshad Ali and Director Finance M. Saqib Butt. Their participation underscored the importance of the partnership and its potential impact on the aviation training landscape.

As part of the engagement, PITB provided a detailed presentation demonstrating workflow automation and the use of Artificial Intelligence applications within the aviation sector. The board also announced its commitment to delivering comprehensive training sessions and continuous support for CATI staff to ensure secure and sustainable implementation of these systems. By focusing on automation of academic, administrative, and financial systems, PITB aims to strengthen operational capabilities at CATI and set an example of how public sector institutions can adopt digital tools to improve service delivery.

PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf stated during the ceremony that automating key systems within the aviation training framework reflects a focus on enhancing efficiency and developing innovation-driven growth in the sector. The collaboration highlights how technology can reshape training institutes by enabling them to manage resources better, reduce administrative bottlenecks, and deliver improved services to trainees and stakeholders alike. This marks a significant development in Pakistan’s digital transformation journey, illustrating the role of PITB in supporting public institutions as they integrate modern digital infrastructure.
