The Punjab Information Technology Board’s Global IT Certifications programme has received more than 21,000 applications since September 2024 from candidates seeking international IT certifications, according to details shared during a review meeting chaired by PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf. The figures highlight sustained demand among applicants for the programme’s certification offerings over the roughly two year period since its launch.
During the review meeting, officials informed attendees that applications received through the PITB portal have resulted in the verification of up to 12,000 candidates so far, indicating that a substantial portion of the total applicant pool has already progressed through the programme’s verification process. This distinction between total applications received and candidates verified suggests the programme maintains a structured screening process before candidates move forward within the certification pathway.
The Global IT Certifications programme is designed to give candidates in Punjab access to internationally recognized IT certifications, reflecting a broader effort by PITB to strengthen the technical skill base of the province’s workforce and align local talent with globally recognized standards.
