PIA has taken strict action against a senior flight steward, Faisal Majeed Pehnwar, who was caught smuggling 16 mobile phones from Canada. The incident came to light when customs officials at Karachi airport discovered the concealed devices during a routine check.

In response to this grave breach of airline policy, PIA issued a show-cause notice to Pehnwar, outlining the serious nature of the offense. The airline has emphasized its zero-tolerance policy towards such misconduct and has suspended the flight steward pending an investigation.

This incident highlights the ongoing challenges faced by PIA in maintaining operational integrity and upholding its reputation. The airline has been under scrutiny in recent years for various operational issues, including safety concerns and financial mismanagement.

As the investigation into the matter continues, PIA remains committed to taking appropriate action to address such incidents and ensure the highest standards of conduct among its employees.
