The P@SHA ICT Awards is a platform to recognize and acknowledge creativity and innovation and award excellence in the Information and Communication Technologies in Pakistan. After a rigorous tri-city judging round, the winners were announced last evening. The 14th edition of the awards ceremony and gala dinner event was held at the Serena Hotel, Islamabad.

The P@SHA ICT Awards are organized annually by the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA). This time around the sponsors and partners include UBL, Systems Ltd., Pakistan Software Export Board, Inbox Business Technologies, 7Vals, and C@re.

Speaking at the event, Chairman Barkan Saeed emphasized on the growth of the local ICT industry and said:

“IT industry is the only way forward for Pakistan to make a name in the world”

As sponsors for the event, United Bank Ltd. has announced a special “FinTech Innovation Award” worth Rs. 500,000 in cash. CreditFix secured the Best FinTech of the Year Award, Oscar for Best Innovation in Payments. Data Analytics Award was secured by Love for Data. Special judging session was held for the ‘Innovation in Fintech’ category where judges included Omer Ehtisham, Samina Rizwan and Ammar Waheed.

A total of 25 judges were included in the jury this time around. Some of these include Raza Matin (Google), Faizan Siddiqui (Jang Media Group – IMM), Jawwad Farid (Alchemy Technologies), Afaque Ahmed (KITE), Ahmed Ayub (10 Pearls), Ather Imran (Sybrid), Faisal Khan (Ovex Technologies), Shehryar Hyderi (P@SHA), Murtaza Zaidi (TiE Islamabad), Owais Zaidi (The Hive) and Barkan Saeed (P@SHA).

Winners from P@SHA ICT Awards 2017 will be heading to Dhaka, Bangladesh for the annual Asia Pacific ICT Alliance Awards in December. Pakistan was awarded three gold, and six silver awards at APICTA 2016 in Taiwan, a record-breaking milestone for the local ICT industry.
