Pakistan IT Industry Association, in partnership with the Aga Khan Education Promotion Board, has launched SkillSprint, a structured skills development initiative designed to build industry-ready digital talent across Pakistan. The programme will train 150 participants across Karachi and Islamabad through industry-focused digital skills training with practical learning components and real-world exposure, targeting individuals who are seeking to enter or advance within the country’s growing technology sector.

As part of the initiative’s implementation model, Pakistan IT Industry Association is inviting proposals from information technology companies interested in delivering training under the SkillSprint framework. This industry-led delivery approach ensures that the curriculum and instruction are shaped by professionals actively working in the sectors that participants will ultimately seek employment in, rather than being designed in isolation from market realities. IT companies interested in submitting proposals can do so by emailing irfan.amir@sjdap.org, with the submission deadline set for May 15, 2026.

The partnership between Pakistan IT Industry Association and the Aga Khan Education Promotion Board brings together two institutions with complementary strengths: Pakistan IT Industry Association’s deep connections across the country’s technology sector and its ongoing mandate to develop the IT workforce, and Aga Khan Education Promotion Board’s established presence in education and community development across Pakistan. The SkillSprint initiative has been aligned with the Tech Destination Pakistan platform under the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications, placing it within the broader national agenda to position Pakistan as a globally competitive technology services destination by investing in the human capital that underpins that ambition. For IT companies, participation in the initiative offers an opportunity to directly influence the quality and relevance of training delivered to the next generation of digital professionals while contributing to an effort with measurable national impact.

Launched in 1967 internationally, ComputerWorld is the oldest tech magazine/media property in the world. In Pakistan, ComputerWorld was launched in 1995.
