Federal Minister for IT & Telecom, Syed Amin ul Haque, emphasized the exceptional value of Pakistan’s skilled IT experts, favorable time zone, and excellent English proficiency with impressive accents in the digital world. He highlighted the growing recognition of Pakistani youth’s IT skills on the global stage.

These statements were made by the minister during meetings with various international delegations at the first edition of GITEX Morocco, where discussions revolved around global challenges and the Pakistani government’s revolutionary initiatives in the IT & Telecom sector. One notable meeting took place with Deemah Al-Yahiya, the Secretary of the General Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO), where bilateral issues and measures to enhance digital cooperation among DCO members were addressed.

The Minister of IT also met with Mr. Saeed Al-Gerghavi, Vice President of Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan. Additionally, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos, Nigeria, paid a visit to Federal Minister IT Amin ul Haque during the session.

Prior to these engagements, Syed Amin ul Haque attended the opening ceremony of the GITEX Global Exhibition in Morocco. Leading a three-member delegation, including Member IT Junaid Imam and Chairman PASHA Zohaib Khan, the minister inaugurated the Pakistan Pavilion at the exhibition. The pavilion featured the participation of 14 companies, 10 start-ups, and over 200 IT experts from Pakistan, making their debut at the GITEX-23 Exhibition. Prominent figures and global tech leaders, including former Minister of IT and Transport of Morocco Rabbah Aziz and Huawei Africa President Colin Hu, showed great interest and visited the Pakistan Pavilion.

GITEX AFRICA Digital Summit, scheduled for 31 May to 01 June 2023, aims to be a highly influential and outcome-focused platform for dialogue, exchanges, and collaboration. Bringing together over 400 global and pan-African government and private sector leaders, policymakers, technology and finance executives, investors, and academics, the summit seeks to drive Africa’s transformation into a single digital market. It will showcase the immense potential of the continent’s youthful population and shape the vision for a connected, sustainable, inclusive, and technology-driven digital economy.
