Google has introduced two new initiatives to support the growth of Pakistan’s gaming and app development sector. The Game Design Masterclass and Google Ads Academy aim to equip local developers with the skills and tools needed to create high-quality applications.
The programs were launched at the Think Apps 2024 event in Lahore, attracting a large number of developers from across Pakistan. Over the next six months, these initiatives will be rolled out in major cities nationwide.
Google’s commitment to empowering Pakistani developers is driven by the significant potential of the country’s app and gaming industry. Local studios like Vyro, AI, Hazel Mobile, Games District, GeniTeam, and Finz Games have achieved global success, contributing to job creation and economic growth.
A report by Access Partnership forecasts a substantial increase in revenue for Pakistan’s gaming and app sector, reaching $6.6 billion annually by 2030. The industry has already demonstrated impressive growth, with a 32 percent compound annual growth rate in global downloads of Pakistani-made apps.
Google aims to provide Pakistani developers with AI-powered tools and resources to help them build exceptional games and apps. This will not only drive profitability but also foster sustainable businesses and contribute to the country’s digital economy.
Through its various programs, Google has engaged over 800 participants and is actively connecting Pakistani developers with global industry leaders.
