Mercantile, in collaboration with Jazz, has launched Pakistan’s first-ever official iPhone Exchange Program, an initiative that allows customers to trade in their PTA-approved iPhones (iPhone 11 or higher) for the latest iPhone 16 models. This program offers a seamless and cost-effective way for Apple users in Pakistan to upgrade their devices without the usual hassles of selling old phones or navigating complex trade-in processes.

The iPhone Exchange Program is designed to provide customers with a straightforward solution to upgrade their devices while ensuring they receive a fair valuation for their existing iPhones. Under this initiative, customers can exchange their eligible iPhones at select Jazz Experience Centres in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. The program enables users to offset the value of their current device against the cost of the latest iPhone 16, requiring them to pay only the remaining balance to complete the upgrade.

By introducing a structured and transparent exchange system, Mercantile and Jazz have addressed one of the key challenges Apple users face in Pakistan—finding a reliable, standardized, and secure way to sell or trade in their older devices. Mercantile, as Apple’s authorized distributor in Pakistan, ensures that every eligible device is fairly evaluated based on a standardized assessment process. This eliminates the uncertainty and inconsistencies often encountered when selling used smartphones through informal markets or third-party retailers.

The launch of this program also marks a significant step toward enhancing digital accessibility in Pakistan. With Apple’s iPhones known for their cutting-edge technology and premium features, the cost barrier often prevents many users from upgrading to the latest models. By offering an exchange option, Jazz and Mercantile are making the latest Apple technology more attainable, allowing customers to stay up to date with the newest advancements without having to bear the full retail cost upfront. Nauman Durrani, CEO of Mercantile Pakistan, highlighted the importance of this initiative, stating:

“This launch simplifies how people in Pakistan can access the latest iPhone models. By working with Jazz, we’re offering a clear, straightforward way for customers to upgrade from older devices and enjoy a better user experience.”

Ali Fahd, Head of Marketing at Jazz, also emphasized the program’s role in driving digital inclusion, saying:

“As a digital leader, Jazz is committed to bridging the digital divide in Pakistan. Our partnership with Mercantile to launch the first iPhone Exchange Program reflects our focus on innovation and customer convenience. By making the latest iPhone devices more accessible, we are empowering customers to enhance their digital lifestyle with seamless connectivity and value-added services.”

The iPhone Exchange Program not only provides convenience but also promotes sustainability by encouraging users to trade in their old devices instead of discarding them. With electronic waste becoming a growing concern worldwide, structured trade-in programs help ensure that devices are repurposed or recycled responsibly.  As Pakistan’s smartphone market continues to expand, initiatives like the iPhone Exchange Program signal a shift toward more customer-centric and technology-driven solutions. With Jazz’s extensive retail network and Mercantile’s trusted reputation as Apple’s authorized distributor, this collaboration is expected to set a new benchmark for smartphone upgrade programs in the country.

For now, the program is available at selected Jazz Experience Centres in major cities, but industry experts anticipate that its success could lead to a nationwide expansion. As more users become aware of the benefits of trading in their old devices for newer models, the demand for structured exchange programs is likely to grow, potentially paving the way for similar initiatives in Pakistan’s tech market.   With the iPhone Exchange Program now live, Apple enthusiasts in Pakistan finally have a reliable, secure, and financially viable way to upgrade to the latest iPhone models—reinforcing the country’s evolving digital landscape and strengthening consumer access to premium technology.
