Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has conducted a key training session focused on preparing stakeholders for the next phase of 5G deployment in Pakistan, as the country moves forward following the recent spectrum auction and initial rollout activities. The session is part of broader efforts to strengthen technical capacity and regulatory preparedness in line with evolving telecom requirements.

According to details, the training brought together relevant stakeholders to enhance understanding of next generation mobile services, including network architecture, spectrum management, and operational frameworks associated with 5G technology. The initiative reflects PTA’s ongoing emphasis on building institutional capacity and ensuring that both regulators and industry participants are equipped to handle the complexities of advanced telecom systems. Such sessions are seen as critical in maintaining service quality and ensuring a smooth transition to newer technologies.

The development comes shortly after Pakistan completed its 5G spectrum auction and formally granted licenses to telecom operators, enabling them to begin phased rollout of services across the country. With operators now entering deployment stages, the need for technical alignment and regulatory clarity has become increasingly important. PTA has indicated that continuous engagement with industry stakeholders will remain a priority as the rollout expands.

Officials noted that capacity building initiatives like these are essential for addressing emerging challenges in areas such as network security, interoperability, and service delivery. Previous training programmes conducted in collaboration with industry partners have also focused on areas including 5G infrastructure, transport networks, and digital service capabilities. As Pakistan advances towards wider 5G adoption, such efforts are expected to support a more robust and efficient telecom ecosystem while enabling improved connectivity and digital services nationwide.
