Two Pakistani’s Selected Amongst Top 20 Innovators: Shell LiveWIRE

Let’s meet the entrepreneurs of today from the Shell LiveWIRE Global
Competition for Innovative Solutions

Shell LiveWIRE announced winners who will take home the title of being “Innovators contributing to a more livable world”. The program received more than 130 entries from different countries. All of these were contesting to find the best solutions to the problems our world faces today. Only three applications have been crowned winners. The process of choosing the winners includes a rigorous shortlisting and evaluating process followed by a public vote.

Finally, the three winners chosen were decided based on more than 27,000 votes collected from 170 different countries. Today’s world, so drastically impacted by the ongoing global pandemic, benefits immensely from Shell LiveWIRE and other global competitions.

Pakistan’s Aqua Agro won the gold prize in the Environment & Circular Economy category on account of their artificial intelligence technology that helped farmers to enhance their productivity and save water.

Indonesian candidate Bionika bagged the first prize in the Energy Transition category. Their solution is biogas technology that transforms waste into energy. The third winner was Brazil’s Safe Drinking Water for All They secured the first in the Local Prosperity category based on their technologies working to democratise access to clean water and sanitation.

Moreover, Pakistan’s EDVON secured a place as a runner-up with their development of virtual STEAM curricula and DIY robotics kits for K-12 students, winning $10,000. They also introduced their Corona-fighting robot that improves sanitation and compliance in healthcare settings.
