Pakistani startups have been invited to participate in one of the world’s most influential technology gatherings, GITEX Expand North Star 2025, scheduled to take place from October 12 to 15 at Dubai Harbour, UAE. Ignite, working in collaboration with Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), has announced the call for applications for high-potential startups seeking to showcase their innovations before global investors, tech leaders, and international media. With the event recognized as the largest startup and technology showcase of its kind, participation offers local entrepreneurs an opportunity to connect with more than 1,800 investors, 1,000 startups from across the globe, and hundreds of decision-makers shaping the future of the digital economy.

As part of the initiative, Ignite will sponsor selected startups from Pakistan that meet eligibility criteria and demonstrate innovation aligned with key global technology sectors. Startups must be actively operating in Pakistan’s ecosystem, registered on StartupConnect.pk, and have a company age of less than five years. Firms that have previously been sponsored by Ignite for international events will not be eligible to apply again under this program. Shortlisted applicants will receive support under two categories: Pod Only sponsorship, which provides exhibition space, or Full Sponsorship, which extends additional benefits. The application deadline has been set for August 28, 2025, with details available on Ignite’s official portal.

The benefits for startups chosen to represent Pakistan at Expand North Star go beyond visibility. Each Ignite-sponsored startup will receive a dedicated pod to exhibit their solutions, opening doors to curated networking sessions, pitching opportunities, and B2B matchmaking with some of the world’s most active venture capital firms and corporate investors. Startups will also gain access to workshops and mentorship programs led by industry leaders, designed to help refine business models and enhance global competitiveness. The platform will not only provide a chance to showcase innovation to international markets but also strengthen Pakistan’s footprint in the global startup ecosystem at a time when cross-border collaborations are becoming increasingly important.

Ignite has encouraged startups from a diverse set of technology verticals to apply. This includes ventures working in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Fintech, Blockchain, HealthTech, EdTech, AgriTech, CleanTech, Sustainability, Web3, Metaverse, Robotics, SaaS, Smart Cities, IoT, Mobility, and Cybersecurity. The inclusion of such a wide range of sectors underscores the breadth of innovation emerging in Pakistan’s entrepreneurial landscape. For Pakistani founders, the opportunity represents not only access to funding and mentorship but also exposure to some of the fastest-growing markets and technologies in the world. By securing representation at Expand North Star, selected startups will play an important role in showcasing the resilience and innovation of Pakistan’s ecosystem on a truly international stage.

Applications are currently open, with Ignite emphasizing that only shortlisted startups will be selected for final participation. With Dubai increasingly positioning itself as a hub for global innovation, the event promises a critical platform for Pakistani entrepreneurs to attract investors, strike partnerships, and highlight the country’s growing digital and entrepreneurial capabilities. Further information, including terms and the official application form, can be accessed at www.ignite.org.pk/gitex25.
