Traversaal, a Pakistani startup, has emerged as the winner of Meta’s APAC AI Accelerator Finals, securing a $100,000 grant for its innovative virtual tutor.
The Meta APAC AI Accelerator program, concluded recently, aimed to support startups in the Asia Pacific region by helping them integrate Meta’s open-source AI model, Llama, into their products to address societal challenges.
Finalists from 13 countries gathered at Meta’s headquarters in Singapore to showcase their AI-driven solutions, addressing real-world issues in sectors like education and healthcare.
Traversaal’s virtual tutor, which delivers high-quality learning resources in both English and Urdu, impressed the judges with its potential to revolutionize education. The second and third place prizes went to teams from Indonesia and New Zealand, receiving $15,000 and $10,000, respectively.
Meta expressed its excitement about the strength of the APAC developer community and the potential for continued innovation in the region.
