Ignite National Technology Fund, operating under the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, will host the Indus RAS Expo 2026 on July 22 and 23 at the Pak-China Friendship Centre in Islamabad. The two day national technology event will bring together policymakers, defence organisations, industry leaders, researchers, academia, startups, investors, and students, aiming to strengthen Pakistan’s robotics ecosystem and accelerate the adoption of autonomous technologies across strategic sectors.
The expo is organised in collaboration with the National Centre of Robotics and Automation and the NUST College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, and will feature innovations spanning defence robotics, drone technologies, industrial automation, and maritime autonomous systems, alongside sessions covering agritech, physical AI, human machine collaboration, and AI powered decision support systems. Leading universities, research institutions, technology companies, and startups will present locally developed products, advanced prototypes, and applied research through live technology demonstrations throughout the event.
Among the expo’s flagship attractions will be the RAS Innovation Challenge and the RoboWars Competition, where students, engineers, and startups will demonstrate original robotics, drone, and autonomous systems solutions before a panel of industry experts. The event will also include an Immersive Experience Dome, combining interactive storytelling with 360 degree digital experiences, alongside a series of high level plenary sessions running across both days.
Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja said robotics and autonomous systems are becoming fundamental drivers of economic competitiveness, industrial modernisation, and national resilience, describing the expo as reflecting the government’s commitment to investing in innovation and creating opportunities for local researchers and entrepreneurs to compete on the global stage. Ignite Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Bilal Abbasi said innovation flourishes when academia, industry, and government work together with shared purpose, positioning the expo as a national platform to accelerate the commercialisation of indigenous technologies.
The Indus RAS Expo 2026 serves as a flagship event under the broader Indus AI initiative, which was held in February this year. The exhibition will be open to visitors on both days, with interested participants able to register and find further details through the event’s official website.
