Pakistani government is actively working to establish a network of state-of-the-art IT parks across the country to foster innovation, create jobs, and drive economic growth.
The initiative, aligned with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s “Digital Pakistan” vision, aims to provide a conducive environment for young entrepreneurs and IT professionals to thrive. The government believes that these IT parks will play a pivotal role in attracting foreign investment, enhancing exports, and bridging the gap between academia and industry.
One of the key projects in this regard is the IT park being constructed in Chak Shahzad, Islamabad, with financial and technical assistance from Korea. This 12-story complex, spanning over 66,000 square meters, will offer office space, testing laboratories, classrooms, and an industry-academia linkage center.
By investing in these IT parks, the government aims to boost Pakistan’s IT exports to $25 billion. This ambitious goal will be achieved by fostering innovation, creating a skilled workforce, and attracting international investment. The government’s commitment to the development of the IT sector is evident in its various initiatives, including the establishment of these IT parks.
