STOCKHOLM – Telenor said on Tuesday that during the Covid-19 outbreak, more people turned to mobile devices, resulting in an increase in customers in Bangladesh and Pakistan.
It said it gained 1.3 million clients in Bangladesh and 300,000 in Pakistan, much outnumbering the 37,000 new customers it gained in Sweden, Finland, and Denmark.
“A lot of these consumers are new to data use, and in areas like Pakistan and Bangladesh, barely 50% of customers are using data,” CEO Sigve Brekke said in an interview.
