The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication has opened a structured consultation process for small and medium enterprises and the broader business community to contribute policy recommendations ahead of the Federal Budget 2026-27, through the Pakistan Small and Medium Enterprise Public-Private Dialogue initiative hosted on the Digital Dialogue Portal.

The consultation is open to a wide range of participants including small and medium enterprises, business associations, chambers of commerce, industry experts, academia, development partners, entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders with a stake in shaping Pakistan’s business environment. The initiative is designed to gather evidence-based input that can inform policy decisions around business growth, innovation, investment facilitation, employment generation, and broader economic development objectives. Participants are being specifically asked to highlight key challenges currently facing the small and medium enterprise sector, identify emerging opportunities, and propose practical measures that could make Pakistan’s small and medium enterprise ecosystem more resilient and globally competitive.

To participate, stakeholders are required to register on the Digital Dialogue Portal, sign in and enter the approval code 0da97f55, access the Pakistan Small and Medium Enterprise Public-Private Dialogue section under the Federal Budget 2026-27 category, and submit their recommendations directly through the platform. The four-step process has been kept straightforward to ensure that participation is accessible to stakeholders regardless of their level of familiarity with government digital platforms. The Ministry has indicated that feedback received through this process will be used to develop policy recommendations aimed at building a more competitive, inclusive, and forward-looking small and medium enterprise sector under the upcoming budget framework.
