Pakistan’s participation at GITEX GLOBAL 2025 continued to highlight its expanding role in global technology cooperation and digital transformation. Federal Minister for IT and Telecom, Ms. Shaza Khawaja, addressed the international audience with a keynote speech on “AI and Connectivity: A Model for Emerging Economies,” emphasizing Pakistan’s vision to harness innovation and digital infrastructure for inclusive economic growth and cross-border collaboration. Her address outlined how emerging economies can integrate artificial intelligence, data, and connectivity to empower communities, enhance digital literacy, and build resilient ecosystems that foster innovation and global engagement.

During her engagements at GITEX, the Federal Minister met with Mr. Massimo Falcioni, Chief Competitiveness Officer at the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, to discuss the potential for strengthening bilateral technology partnerships. The meeting focused on fostering sustainable digital collaboration, attracting investments in Pakistan’s IT and telecom sectors, and developing frameworks that encourage innovation-driven entrepreneurship. Both parties expressed interest in promoting cross-border investment initiatives that would enhance Pakistan’s participation in the global technology landscape and create mutually beneficial opportunities for innovation and trade.

Furthering Pakistan’s international outreach, Ms. Khawaja, along with Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) CEO Mr. Abu Bakar, met with officials from the Government of Poland, including H.E. Rafal Rosinski, Mr. Piotr Kobielski, Ms. Pamela Krzypkoska, and Mr. Krystian Olchowik. The discussion focused on deepening Pakistan–Poland cooperation in digital transformation, youth-led innovation, and cybersecurity. The meeting reinforced both countries’ shared commitment to advancing technology partnerships that support sustainable growth, capacity building, and the development of secure digital ecosystems. The conversation also explored initiatives that could connect young innovators from both nations through joint research, digital training programs, and startup collaboration.

In a similar effort, the Federal Minister and PSEB CEO met with Mr. Vasile Catalin, Advisor at the Ministry of Economy, Romania. This meeting focused on enhancing tech-driven trade, expanding IT exports, and building innovation-led collaboration between Pakistan and the European Union. The exchange underscored the importance of strengthening bilateral and regional engagement to create new opportunities for businesses and technology professionals. Through these discussions, Pakistan positioned itself as a strong partner for European countries looking to engage with South Asia’s growing digital economy and its vibrant pool of technology talent.

The participation of Pakistan’s delegation at GITEX GLOBAL 2025, including representatives from the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication, PSEB, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, PASHA, Ignite National Technology Fund, and the Special Investment Facilitation Council, reflects a coordinated effort to project Pakistan’s digital potential on the international stage. With representatives such as Abu Bakar, Shahbaz Hameed, Abrar Qureshi, Sidra Jalil, and Sajjad Syed engaging with global leaders, Pakistan continues to strengthen its position as a proactive digital nation committed to driving collaboration, innovation, and inclusive technology growth worldwide.
