During her official visit to Moscow for the Second International Technology Congress (ITC), Federal Minister for IT & Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, engaged in high-level discussions with Mr. Grigory Borisenko, Deputy Minister of Digital Development of Russia. The meeting focused on exploring avenues for collaboration in the fields of digital transformation, IT infrastructure development, and regional connectivity, highlighting Pakistan’s growing potential as a dynamic hub for technology and innovation.

Minister Khawaja emphasized Pakistan’s progress in building a robust digital ecosystem through initiatives in software development, e-governance, and emerging technologies. She outlined opportunities for joint projects that leverage expertise from both countries, including smart city development, cloud computing, and secure digital infrastructure. The discussions also included strategies to enhance cross-border technology exchange, fostering innovation that can benefit industries and communities in both Pakistan and Russia.

The dialogue underscored the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation in the technology sector, particularly in areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and IT skill development. Both parties discussed mechanisms for knowledge sharing, research collaborations, and capacity building, aiming to create sustainable partnerships that support Pakistan’s goal of becoming a regional digital leader. Minister Khawaja highlighted ongoing initiatives under Tech Destination Pakistan and stressed the country’s readiness to engage with international partners on technology-driven solutions that address global and regional challenges.

Officials from both countries expressed interest in developing collaborative programs that enable startups, technology firms, and academic institutions to participate in joint research and development projects. With Pakistan focusing on digital innovation and Russia bringing expertise in technology infrastructure and digital governance, the meeting set the stage for long-term partnerships that promote economic growth, technological advancement, and regional connectivity.
