The recently launched system for the temporary registration of mobile devices for overseas Pakistanis and foreign nationals is now fully operational, allowing seamless use of cell phones during their stay in Pakistan. This Temporary Registration Facilitation offers tax-free registration for personal mobile phones for a duration of up to 3 months.

In the latest update, the regulatory authority specified that overseas Pakistanis and foreign nationals can register their mobile phones for a period of 120 days from their date of arrival in the country. To access this service, individuals are encouraged to apply using their credentials such as Passport, CNIC, or NICOP.

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has outlined the procedure for utilizing the Temporary Registration Facilitation system through the DIRBS (Device Identification Registration and Blocking System). Those looking to register their mobile phones without paying PTA tax can follow the provided guide on dirbs.pta.gov.pk/drs
