Pakistan Digital Authority, the national body established under the Digital Nation Pakistan Act 2025 to lead, coordinate, and accelerate Pakistan’s journey toward becoming a fully digital nation, is actively seeking applications for the position of Chief Strategy Officer based in Islamabad. The role, which has already drawn over one hundred applicants within a day of being posted, is a full-time, on-site position that sits at the heart of the government’s broader vision to ensure every citizen, business, and government institution benefits from trusted technology, protected data, and intelligent digital services.

The Chief Strategy Officer will serve as the chief architect and owner of the National Digital Masterplan, a position that carries significant responsibility for shaping the direction of Pakistan’s digital transformation at a national level. The role is externally focused and involves driving strategic planning, policy formulation, and the ongoing adaptation of the Masterplan in response to evolving technological and policy landscapes. The Chief Strategy Officer will also lead national foresight efforts, establish performance frameworks to measure the success of the Masterplan, and spearhead cross-sector digital initiatives in direct collaboration with ministries and regulators across the government.

In terms of requirements, candidates are expected to bring a minimum of five years of hands-on work experience in digital transformation and at least ten years of experience in strategic planning, reflecting the seniority and complexity of the role. The position demands a professional who can operate effectively at the intersection of technology, policy, and government administration, navigating multi-stakeholder environments and translating high-level national digital ambitions into structured, measurable plans. The hiring team is led by Sophia Hasnain, whose background spans government technology, digital twin systems, the Industrial Internet of Things, smart cities, and climate technology.

Pakistan Digital Authority was established as the institutional backbone for the Digital Nation Pakistan initiative, and the appointment of a Chief Strategy Officer represents a critical step in building the leadership capacity needed to deliver on that mandate. Professionals interested in applying for the position can do so directly through LinkedIn, where the listing remains active and is being reviewed on a rolling basis.
