Pakistan is taking steps to strengthen its collaboration with Korea in the fields of science, technology, and development, as Federal Minister for Science and Technology Khalid Hussain Magsi met a high-level Korean delegation led by Chang Won Sam, President of KOICA. The meeting underscored the long-standing bilateral relations between the two countries and explored opportunities for further cooperation in areas of mutual interest, particularly in renewable energy technologies.

During discussions, both parties emphasized the significance of fostering innovation-driven partnerships to advance scientific research and technological applications. The meeting highlighted the potential for joint projects in solar technology, including field testing of Solar Photovoltaic systems and solar inverter testing in line with international standards. By collaborating on these initiatives, Pakistan aims to improve its renewable energy capabilities while benefiting from Korea’s expertise and technical resources in sustainable energy solutions.

Federal Minister Magsi noted that the dialogue with KOICA represents a continuation of ongoing efforts to enhance Pakistan’s scientific and technological capacity. By implementing collaborative projects, the Ministry of Science and Technology seeks to address energy challenges and promote research that aligns with global best practices. KOICA’s engagement is expected to provide technical guidance, knowledge transfer, and support for high-quality implementation of solar technology projects, which are increasingly critical to Pakistan’s energy strategy.

The meeting also reflected the broader scope of Pakistan-Korea cooperation, which extends beyond energy to include development initiatives in science, innovation, and technology. Both sides expressed commitment to expanding joint research programs, capacity-building measures, and technical exchanges to strengthen institutional capabilities. The collaboration signals a strategic partnership where shared expertise and resources can be leveraged to meet national and regional technology goals, further solidifying the bilateral relationship between Pakistan and Korea.
