PAeC and IEEE Islamabad Section Partner to Advance High-Tech and Aerospace Sectors

Pakistan Aerospace Council (PAeC) and IEEE Islamabad Section have formalized a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking a significant step toward strengthening Pakistan’s high-tech and aerospace sectors. The agreement focuses on bridging the gap between academia, industry, and policy to create a collaborative ecosystem that drives technological progress and national development.

The MoU establishes a framework for technical collaboration, including joint research and development, training programs, and workshops. These initiatives aim to foster knowledge exchange and build capacity in emerging areas of technology. By aligning academic research with industry requirements, the collaboration is expected to generate practical outcomes that contribute to the growth of Pakistan’s aerospace and advanced technology sectors.

A key focus of the MoU is to provide students with greater industry exposure. Internship opportunities with PAeC member companies will allow students to gain hands-on experience in high-tech environments. This practical learning component is designed to bridge the skills gap and better prepare the next generation of engineers, technologists, and innovators for real-world challenges.

The agreement also outlines plans to support innovation-driven startups, particularly those operating at the intersection of engineering, aerospace, and digital technologies. By connecting startup ecosystems with established players and research institutions, the collaboration aims to create new avenues for commercialization and technology deployment.

Joint participation in international exhibitions and delegations is another area of focus. These efforts are expected to raise global awareness of Pakistan’s capabilities in aerospace and high-tech industries, while also enabling Pakistani firms and researchers to engage with global trends, investors, and potential partners. This global exposure is viewed as essential for scaling up local innovation and fostering international competitiveness.

The MoU signing ceremony was attended by representatives from both organizations. PAeC was represented by Shahid Rafiq (President), Mansoor Malik (Member Advisory Board), Engr. Tanveer Ahmad (Treasurer), and Dr. Javaid Bhatti (General Secretary). IEEE Islamabad Section was represented by Dr. Nosherwan Shoaib and Dr. Atif Jilani, PhD (Treasurer). Their presence at the event reflected a shared commitment to advancing strategic dialogue and creating long-term impact through collaborative efforts.

Through this partnership, PAeC and IEEE Islamabad Section intend to create sustained engagement that not only facilitates innovation but also informs policy and strategy for industrial development. The collaboration opens doors for deeper professional linkages, increased research output, and better alignment between national priorities and global technological advancements.

By connecting students, researchers, and industry experts through structured programs and joint initiatives, the MoU is set to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of high-tech innovation in Pakistan. The partnership also reflects a coordinated effort to position the country more prominently in the global technology and aerospace landscape.
